Course Description
Non-Techie Cybersecurity Program Essentials for Smaller CPA Firms
With the increasing cybersecurity threats reaching to small businesses, and expanding liability from data breaches, it’s becoming even more important for firms to ensure that they have a strong IT security program. Many template IT security policies and procedures are overkill for a smaller entity. A pragmatic IT security program that balances reasonable polices with technical measures, and that includes a strong employee awareness and education process is key to protecting your firm from being caught off-guard, or even worse being perceived as being negligent in protecting your clients’ and employees’ private data. If you are handling credit card information, a comprehensive IT security program is required by the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards even for small businesses. Designed for non-techie managing partners and firm administrators, attend this session to walk through the essential elements of a strong IT security program that is pragmatic and implementable by smaller firms.
