ITK Founder Named to 2022 List of Most Influential People in Accounting
This is Shimamoto’s eight time to make the list, joining others like President Joe Biden, SEC Chair Gary Gensler, FASB Chair Richard Jones, PCAOB Chair Erica Williams, and Secretary of the Treasury Janet Yellen.
For the sixth year in a row, Accounting Today has named the founder of IntrapriseTechKnowlogies to its 2022 list of the Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting.
Donny Shimamoto, CPA, CITP, CGMA, founder and managing director of IntrapriseTechKnowlogies and the Inspiration Architect behind the Center for Accounting Transformation made the prestigious list of thought leaders for the eighth time in his career. “Shimamoto is a go-to speaker and thought leader on all things technology, which he also tackles as an outsourced CIO. What’s more, through his Center for Accounting Transformation he’s working to provide a framework for accountants to leverage innovation to advance the profession on many fronts,” the publication stated of Shimamoto.
Shimamoto has also been recognized as one of the Top Thought Leaders in Public Accounting by CPA Practice Advisor from 2012 to 2021 and was also named to CPA Technology Advisor’s 40 Under 40 list in 2007, 2009, and 2014. Shimamoto is a member of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) Technology Advisory Group, was a past chairman of the AICPA’s Information Management and Technology Assurance Executive Committee and former member of its Governing Council, Assurance Services Executive Committee, and numerous other AICPA committees and task forces. He is also the current co-chair of the National Conference of Lawyers and CPAs.
In the supplemental issue, the Managing Editor Danielle Lee wrote “Their expert advice on the talent shortage, diversity and inclusion, and many other timely topics is partially what landed them on this year’s list of the most impactful thought leaders and changemakers in the profession, along with the ways they have gone beyond mere rhetoric to take action and create change.”
